Game modes

From there you can start a game in 3 different modes: Practice, Casual or Ranked. When you click Casual or Ranked modes, you are redirected to the queue page.

Practice

Practice mode allows you to experiment with new items, strategies and spells immediately without having to queue for a game with other players. You are immediately matched with an AI team of similar strength as yours.

Winning or losing in practice mode does not impact your ELO or any other stats. On the other hand, you can NOT win keys for daily loot in this mode, you do not earn audience rewards, you do not earn gold and the XP rewards are very low.

Casual

Casual mode is a PvP mode that pits you against other players of similar ELO. As a result you need to queue for some time before a matching player can be found (see Queuing section).

Winning or losing in casual mode does not impact your ELO or any other stats. In this mode you can win keys for daily loot, you can earn audience rewards, you can earn gold and you earn normal XP rewards.

Ranked

Ranked mode is the most intense PvP mode, pitting you against players of similar ELO who are in the same league as you (see the Rank Page for more information on the leagues system). As a result queuing time can be a bit longer before a suitable opponent is found.

Winning or losing in ranked mode will directly impact your ELO score and the various competitive stats that are kept track of (number of wins, losses, win streaks...). Playing in this mode can reward daily loot keys, audience rewards, and larger gold and XP rewards.

Daily loot

The daily loot consists in 3 chests that you can claim at regular intervals:

  • Bronze chest: every 6 hours, contains 1 reward

  • Silver chest: every 12 hours, contains 2 slightly better rewards

  • Gold chest: every 24 hours, contains 2 better rewards

The rewards of each chest can be consumables, gold, equipment or spells, of increasing value depending of the chest (bronze chests have the least valuable rewards, gold chests the most valuable).

  1. Chest type

  2. Countdown until you can earn the key for the chest

  3. Whether you won the key for that chest yet

  4. Indicates that the chest can be opened

Once the countdown for a chest reaches 0, it becomes possible to win the key to open it. To win a key, just play a Casual or Ranked game (you will win the key whether you win or lose the game). You can then open the chest and claim the reward, which will reset the timer for that chest. You can only win one key per game.
